奔驰推出基于区块链的碳排放追踪器

德国汽车制造巨头梅赛德斯-奔驰(Mercedes-Benz)说,他们正在与Circular合作,以追踪汽车气体排放。区块链是Startup Autobahn计划的一部分,旨在对未来十年的汽车进行分类。

两家公司将部署区块链,以追踪与气候相关的气体排放,以及沿电池制造商复杂的供应链的回收材料数量。

奔驰打算在这次试点期间收集的数据来开发碳中和轿车。

该项目一开浆始将集中于最近引起了种源和道德问题的钴的供应。钴是制造锂离子电池的重要资源,其大部分供应来自以其不道德的钴条件而闻名的刚果民主共和国。联合国估计,2017年全球有1.68亿儿童处于剥削性工作条件,其中包括刚果民主共和国钴矿中约40,000名儿童。这意味着了解其产品的成分来自何处对企业尤为重要。

 

汽车行业的区块链

奔驰并不是第一个在可持续性和道德产品采购问题上转向区块链技术的汽车制造商。沃尔沃(Volvo)已经与Circulor合作,通过供应链跟踪原材料—电池制造商—尔沃汽车。

印度汽车制造商塔塔汽车公司(Tata Motors )去年9月宣布,他们计划将区块链技术纳入其内部流程。该公司希望将基于区块链的解决方案应用于汽车行业的各个方面,包括停车市场,需求预测算法和实时燃油质量跟踪。
