Shutterstock and Getty Images have unveiled advanced AI-powered tools designed to enhance creative workflows, leveraging NVIDIA’s cutting-edge Edify architecture, as reported by the NVIDIA Blog.

Shutterstock Launches Generative 3D Service

Shutterstock has introduced its Generative 3D service in commercial beta, allowing designers to prototype 3D assets and generate 360 HDRi backgrounds using text or image prompts. This service aims to significantly reduce the time required for creating 3D assets, providing a preview in as little as 10 seconds. If the preview meets the user’s needs, it can be converted into a high-quality 3D asset complete with physically based rendering materials.

At the upcoming SIGGRAPH conference, Shutterstock will showcase a workflow in Blender that enables artists to generate objects directly within their 3D environment. Additionally, HP will demonstrate 3D prints and physical prototypes created using the Generative 3D service.

Getty Images Enhances Generative AI Service

Getty Images has upgraded its Generative AI service, which now produces images twice as fast and improves output quality. The service, powered by an enhanced Edify AI model, offers advanced controls for image composition and style, enabling users to generate four images in about six seconds and upscale them to 4K resolution.

New features include the ability to control camera settings like depth of field and focal length, and fine-tuning capabilities that allow companies to customize the AI with their own data to generate on-brand content. Omnicom is among the companies using Getty Images’ service to streamline advertising workflows and create on-brand content more efficiently.

NVIDIA’s Role in Advancing AI

Both Shutterstock's and Getty Images' services are built on NVIDIA’s visual AI foundry using the Edify architecture. This multimodal generative AI framework is optimized for performance with NVIDIA NIM, a suite of accelerated microservices for AI inference. Edify allows service providers to train generative models on licensed data and scale them quickly using NVIDIA DGX Cloud.

For more information on these advancements, readers can explore the respective services on the Shutterstock and Getty Images websites.
