May 2024 has been a month of significant developments for the SingularityNET (AGIX) ecosystem, marking considerable progress towards the vision of decentralized, inclusive, and beneficial Artificial General Intelligence (AGI). The latest updates encompass the finalization of the ASI token merger, successful technical meetups, and a robust response to the Deep Funding Round 4.

ASI Alliance Token Merger

On May 29th, 2024, SingularityNET announced the finalization details of the Artificial Superintelligence Alliance (ASI) token merger, which will take place on June 13th, 2024. This merger, involving FET, AGIX, and OCEAN tokens, aims to create the largest decentralized AI network. The new ASI token will provide enhanced scale and power across the network. Token holders can swap their FET, AGIX, and OCEAN tokens at specified ratios through a secure migration contract starting June 11th, 2024.

Decentralized AI Platform Meetup in Istanbul

The SingularityNET team gathered in Istanbul for a technical meetup focusing on advancing their decentralized AI Platform. The event included key figures like CEO Ben Goertzel and CTO Sergey Shalyapin. Discussions revolved around enhancing platform usability, developing Distributed Atomspace (DAS), and integrating Sentience ID across the ecosystem. Plans for optimizing hardware resources and developing Large Memory Models (LMMs) were also outlined.

Deep Funding Round 4

Deep Funding Round 4 (DFR4) received an impressive 210 valid proposals, all aligned with SingularityNET’s mission of fostering a democratic AI ecosystem. The review period ends on June 10th, followed by a voting period starting the same day. The awarded teams will be announced on June 23rd, 2024. Community members are encouraged to participate in the voting process to support innovative projects that align with SingularityNET’s vision.

Technical Tuesdays and Beyond

SingularityNET's Technical Tuesdays series continued to explore the OpenCog Hyperon framework and its applications. Key topics included experiential learning components for OpenCog Hyperon and the integration of AIRIS (Autonomous Intelligent Reinforcement Interpreted Symbolism). Additionally, the team discussed the PRIMUS cognitive architecture, which is being updated to leverage recent technological advancements.

Community and Ecosystem Initiatives

The SingularityNET ecosystem saw various community-driven initiatives and partnerships in May. The LATAM guild, African guild, and AI Ethics workgroup held their first sessions.
