THORChain has officially launched support for the Base chain, marking a significant development in the decentralized finance (DeFi) space. According to Nine Realms, this new integration allows users to perform cross-chain swaps involving any other blockchain supported by THORChain.

Available Swap Routes

The integration with Base opens up new swap routes for users. Notably, assets such as BASE.ETH and BASE.USDC are now available for swaps. Additionally, BASE.cbBTC has been whitelisted for pool creation, offering further trading opportunities within the THORChain network.

Frontend Interfaces

The rollout of Base swaps is set to appear on popular interfaces and wallets soon. Users can access these features on platforms such as THORSwap and ShapeShift, enhancing their ability to engage with a broader array of digital assets.

About Base and THORChain

Base operates as an Ethereum Layer 2 (L2) solution, providing a secure, cost-effective, and builder-friendly environment for on-chain activities. By integrating with THORChain, Base enables users to contribute liquidity and earn yields, facilitating seamless trading from Bitcoin to Base.

This addition increases THORChain's supported blockchain list to ten, including prominent networks like Bitcoin, Ethereum Mainnet, BNB Chain, and more. The integration of Base is part of a broader strategy by Nine Realms and Strangelove Labs to incorporate impactful chains throughout 2025.

Community and Further Information

For those interested in staying updated with THORChain developments, community engagement is encouraged through various channels such as Twitter, Telegram, and Discord. Educational content and updates are also available through THORChain University and other resources.

THORChain's expansion with Base underlines its commitment to enhancing cross-chain swap capabilities, offering users a robust platform for diversified DeFi interactions.
