COIN Price Prediction: Bearish trend remains intact as price sits below key averages

What happened and why it matters

COIN is trading at $138.91 after falling 8.07% over the last 24 hours, with the session range spanning $151.94 to $133.57. That leaves price below the 7-day SMA at $143.11 and also under the 20-day, 50-day, and 200-day averages at $156.65, $175.03, and $173.24. The setup matters because the decline is not isolated: the market is now sitting below several trend benchmarks at once, which leaves short-term momentum pressured and reduces the margin for error.

The technical picture is still defensive. Price is near the lower Bollinger Band at $131.90, and the %B reading of 0.1422 shows it is trading close to that lower boundary rather than near the middle of the band. RSI(14) at 35.50 is weak but not deeply oversold, while MACD at -9.8346 and the flat histogram at 0.0000 indicate bearish momentum has not yet turned. Stochastic %K at 16.78 and %D at 13.42 also point to persistent downside pressure.

Derivatives data adds context, not confirmation

The Binance Futures data does not show a one-sided funding squeeze. Funding is flat at 0.0000%, which means the current leveraged crowd is not paying a clear premium to stay positioned. At the same time, open interest rose 16.76% to 127,212.05 contracts, with open interest value at $19,919,053. That combination suggests fresh positioning is being added into the move, not simply unwound.

Positioning data is skewed long in Binance cohorts, but it should be read carefully. Global Binance accounts show 67.4% long versus 32.6% short, and top-trader accounts show 74.0% long versus 26.0% short, both from the 2026-11-06 09:00:00 UTC observation. Those ratios describe Binance cohorts only; they do not establish retail versus institutional behavior or imply underlying shareholder positioning.

The most immediate caution comes from taker flow. The 1-hour taker buy/sell ratio is 0.8938, with buy volume of 5,339 against sell volume of 5,973. In practical terms, aggressive sellers have had the upper hand even while many accounts remain long, which leaves price vulnerable unless that flow improves.

Key levels to watch

The nearest reference on the upside is the pivot at $141.47, followed by immediate resistance at $149.38. Above that, the stronger resistance zone sits at $159.84. Reclaiming the 7-day SMA at $143.11 would be a useful first sign that the pressure is easing; recovering the 20-day SMA at $156.65 would matter more because it would also put price back above the Bollinger middle band.

On the downside, the lower Bollinger Band at $131.90 lines up closely with immediate support at $131.01. If that area gives way, strong support is marked at $123.10. That makes the lower-$130s the first decision zone, with the low-$120s the next visible support in the supplied data.

Analyst actions on Coinbase Global shares

The analyst updates supplied here apply to Coinbase Global shares, not to a separate short-term trading forecast for the Binance Futures-linked COIN instrument. They still matter as background because they show how coverage on the underlying equity has been repriced.

According to the supplied sources, Kenneth Worthington at JPMorgan lowered the target from $189 to $187 and kept an Overweight rating on October 30, 2026. James Yaro at Goldman Sachs cut the target from $244 to $210 and kept a Buy rating on October 30, 2026. Benjamin Budish at Barclays reduced the target from $149 to $120 and kept an Underweight rating on October 30, 2026. Daniel Welden at Wells Fargo lowered the target from $200 to $174 and kept an Equal-Weight rating on October 30, 2026. Michael Cyprys at Morgan Stanley downgraded Coinbase from Equal Weight to Underweight and cut the target from $258 to $120 on November 2, 2026. Keefe, Bruyette & Woods cut the target from $237 to $221 and kept an Outperform rating on November 3, 2026.

Taken together, the analyst moves are not pointing in one direction, but the more important pattern is that several firms reduced targets in a short window. That makes the coverage backdrop more cautious than constructive, even though the ratings remain split.

What would improve the setup

For the short-term structure to improve, COIN would need to hold above the $131.01 to $133.57 area and then reclaim $141.47. A stronger repair would require a move back through $143.11 and then $149.38, which would begin to reverse the current loss of trend support.

If the lower band and immediate support fail, the next downside reference is $123.10. Until price can recover above the short-term averages, the market remains in a technically damaged state with downside still open.
