$300 Million in Real Estate in Pennsylvania and Costa Rica to be tokenized by tZero and Vertalo

$300 Million In Real Estate Tokenization Deal
On 17th August, Vertalo and tZERO announced that Real estate properties owned by Real Estate Capital Management will be tokenized on the new tokenization platform through Vertalo, tZERO and the consulting firm Advantage blockchain. According to the agreement, real estate properties starting from the $90 million of office and hotels in Pennsylvania and Costa Richa will be tokenized first.
The Advantage blockchain through Vertalo will use the Tezos blockchain to tokenize its real estate assets. Accredited investors will be able to sign up to trade through their partner broker. The custody of the tokens will be maintained by Prime Trust, where the tokenization of real estate assets will enable investors to enter or exit positions more efficiently and effectively with lower fees and intermediates' costs.
Tezos is faster than the ethereum network with proof-of-stake capabilities and a more robust governance model. Due to this Vertalo has chosen Tezos for tokenization of real-estate properties where the tokens would be available alongside TZROP, Overstock's voting series A-1 stock and tZero's private equity token. Accredited investors would be able to trade tokens through a broker-dealer to make it easier to trade in real estate investments.
Advantage through Vertalo is tokenizing real-estate assets with the help of fund managers who are searching for better liquidity, spreads, and efficiency for their current assets under management. The route chosen by Vertalo is different from the current models as they are not tokenizing real estate assets and then finding new investors for the product, instead, they are targeting existing real-estate fund managers and onboarding them on their platform by using blockchain technology to reduce cost and save money.
