Argentina is expected to hold its general elections on 27 October 2019. As a result, election uncertainties have been thriving in Argentina, causing its currency, peso, to depreciate. This trend has instigated massive Bitcoin embracement every passing day. 

Argentinian local investors have been forced to pay a considerable cost for Bitcoin. For instance, in a peer-to-peer network known as LocalBitcoins.com, Bitcoin recently traded for nearly $12,000. Evidently, this is almost 10% more as compared to its prevailing price in many global crypto exchanges. 

Bitcoin Adaption Triggered by Currency Devaluation

Bitcoin has emerged to be the perfect choice in places where severe political uncertainties and currency devaluation are witnessed. For instance, in nations such as Venezuela where an enormous economic recession is being observed. Argentina has not been an exemption based on massive political uncertainties.

Bitcoin has significantly appreciated against Argentina’s peso to the tune of 50%. This has propelled Bitcoin’s cost on local exchanges making investors feel the heat. In troubled nations, Bitcoin is being viewed as an avenue of preventing assets from tumbling in local currencies.
