1.   Leading Asian Fintech Company WeLab Completes the Largest Ever Fintech Fundraising in China

Leading fintech company, WeLab announced on Dec. 12 that it has raised US$156 million in Series C of strategic financing, becoming the largest fintech fundraising in China so far.

2.   Twitter Takes on Decentralization with New Social Media   Development Project

Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey is working on an initiative to decentralize social media, also known as ‘BlueSky,’ alongside five other programmers.

3.   CoinMarketCap Puts Wash Traders On Notice With New Metric

CoinMarketCap’s new “Liquidity” metric is coming down hard  on exchanges that harbor wash traders. Wash trading is a process whereby a trader buys and sells an asset for the express purpose of manipulating trading volume and feeding misleading information to the market.
