Healthcare is data-rich with reports suggesting medical knowledge will double itself every 73 days starting in 2020. Leading to huge learning, more diverse storage as well as new medical sharing methods.
In 2016 the Estonian government decided to adopt blockchain technology, precisely for communication and sharing advancement.
AI can be applied in a variety of ways, predictive analytics, medical screenings and more.
But where has the 2016 adoption of blockchain lead to in Q4 2019?
Blockchain is used 24/7 to safeguard health records. Archiving activity logs for patients.
Private health information is confidential. Ensuring it is secure from loss, damage and unwanted eyes is essential to privacy.
Estonia’s healthcare timeline in 2018;
“A private digital ledger has been integrated into the ledger at the E-Health Foundation to record and track patient medical data. One of the goals was to have real-time awareness of the integrity of the stored data, so that administrators could see any breaches and act immediately to limit damage. Mostly though, it’s about barring would-be electronic intruders and keeping alterations from happening in the first place.
The project in Estonia is still a work in progress, but I believe that other nations that use electronic health records could soon follow suit.”
Fast track to 2019 and we can see great advancement

Ambulance shared information — patient’s data can be given to emergency care providers they are going off to save. Immediately listing facts such as recent health scares, problems and medical information including allergies and more.
Estonia do not yet run everything on blockchain, but starting with the healthcare system have made progress in adoption. They have implemented technology that fits and can help its people. Healthcare and blockchain is a great combination, tying privacy, security and technology together to keep health records safe. Is there anything more important than health?
Moving into 2020 the Estonian Health Information System (EHIS) will constantly be updating what is possible in this technology sector.
EHIS is aiming to create the best infrastructure of quality medical management by 2025. Giving citizens control and access to medical information integrated with health services around the country.
