(Rejected: 3) CEO of Bitspark Announces That It Will be Closing Its Doors Next Month
George Harrap, CEO of Bitspark, published an announcement about the exchange closure on the 4th of March. The CEO had stated that shutting down the exchange was mostly caused by decisions taken internally and failed results of restructuring. He also said that the virus epidemic and Hong Kong protests which took place near to HQs of Bitspark didn't have so much effect on this decision. He said:
‘’Unfortunately due to internal restructuring that hasn’t worked out, and a decision taken by shareholders internally, we have made the decision to close our doors. While the HK protests and virus epidemic haven’t affected as much, it hasn’t helped either.’’
Bitspark happens to be the first cryptocurrency exchange in Asia and has had more than 20 different currencies for more than 5 years. Maxine Ryan, previous COO of Bitspark, tweeted about this closure. She pointed out that the restructuring requirement after she left this position about 1 month ago has caused some problems. Even with high levels of MoM growth, it’s inevitable to change this decision.
"This isn’t just a financial decision. This is out of respect to Bitspark users, ZEPH holders, and the team." She stated.
According to the CEO's announcement, the exchange will remain open until March 4 but services will be limited. Until then, users will be able to withdraw their assets from Bitspark and liquidity will remain on the exchange after which most of the services including login functions will be disabled in 90 days period. The team has decided that it will continue providing some functions of Bitspark exchange including asset withdrawal if the user still has some in account wallet. Alos operations involving customer care services through the official email of the exchange platform will still be made available for users of the platform to access until the said date.
