CoinMarketCap Made its First-Ever Acquisition for Price Transparency

The leading crypto data provider CoinMarketCap has revealed its first-ever acquisition on Hashtag Capital, as revealed in the official blogpost on 26 June.

Hashtag Capital was an absolute returns cryptocurrency trading fund, which is determined to provide the “true price” of markets as part of its fund management. Besides, its mission was to reflect every asset accurately by taking all points of available liquidity into account.

According to the blogpost, the Hashtag Capital team will be joining CoinMarketCap following the acquisition. They will focus on developing liquidity-focused products to drive part of the DATA initiative, as well as enhance new data offerings for CoinMarketCap.

“We are excited to push the envelope on cryptocurrency pricing at CoinMarketCap, going beyond our traditional volume-weighted average prices to even more sophisticated price algorithms and analyses.” Brandon Chez, CEO of CoinMarketCap commented on their acquisition of Hashtag Capital.
