Monetary System is about the money issuance, money supply to serve for a given purpose.

Typically, the power of money issuance and money supply is in hands of central bank, like Federal Reserve.

In current monetary system, money issuance based on national credit. This money issuance standard is quite different from gold standard, where money is issued based on gold reserve.
