(Duplicated-rejected) Netflix Is Making A Documentary About QuadrigaCX Cryptocurrency Scam
Netflix streaming service Inc., has announced that it will release a true crime documentary that features the mystery of lost cryptocurrency funds surrounding the death of Gerald Cotten, the founder and CEO of Canadian cryptocurrency exchange QuadrigaCX.

The true-crime documentary follows a group of QuadrigaCX investors who turned into investigators looking into QuadrigaCX crypto exchange, the suspicious depth of crypto millionaire Gerald Cotten and the missing $250 million they believed Cotten stole from them.
Netflix has scheduled to release the new documentary ‘Trust No One: The Hunt for The Crypto King’ in 2022.
The Netflix’s documentary aims to look into one of the messiest bitcoin tales to death, featuring a group of crypto investors turned amateur detectives trying to get to the bottom of the suspicious death of crypto millionaire Cotten and understand what really occurred to the $250 million they think he stole from them.
The FBI began conducting their investigations last year, seeking information from customers who lost funds after Cotten’s death and QuadrigaCX's collapse.
Official investigations have still not produced any definitive answers regarding the death of the CEO, the downfall of QuadrigaCX crypto exchange, and the loss of clients’ funds.
A sneak preview of the Netflix doc contains images suggesting that the documentary will show the investors examine deeper into such conspiracies. It remains to be seen whether the documentary will include any concrete details about uncertainty and resolution of the mystery.
Netflix has witnessed a boom with its true-crime docuseries, from “Tiger King” to “Making a Murderer”. Such a business boom has led to many other major streamlining firms to produce most projects in the true-crime genre in 2020.
Netflix plans to start streaming ‘The Tinder Swindler’, a documentary about a conman who posed as a billionaire on the dating app and the women who tried to stop him, in February 2022.
Exit Scam
The move by Netflix to release the documentary shows that skepticism around the death of Canadian crypto exchange founder Gerald Cotton won’t go away any time soon.
The collapse of Canadian exchange QuadrigaCX was one of the most notorious apparent exit scams ever seen. In early 2019, the exchange shut down its business, months after the founder Gerald Cotten had died of complications from Crohn’s disease while on a trip to India. Cotton’s sudden death led to the loss of customers’ funds worth about $190 million.
Of course, customers suspected a foul play and believed that Cotten faked his death and stole money from them. The “questionable circumstances” behind the death led lawyers representing customers of the collapsed crypto exchange to request that his body be exhumed and do further investigations.
