In a report held on Thursday, June 10, the CEO of State Street Corp. (NYSE: STT), Ron O’Hanley published a report revealing that the company have started a new department or division (State Street Digital) specifically dedicated to handle assets pertaining to cryptocurrency. This new department will address evolution of digital assets.
The report also diversified that the head of the new crypto division is Nadine Chakar, who have served the company for not less than three decades and current previous position as the Vice President
“The financial industry is transforming to a digital economy, and we see digital assets as one of the most significant forces impacting our industry over the next five years,” said O’Hanley.
The new crypto division is empowered to create significant developments in the crypto community and market. The division is charged with the responsibility of training crypto personnel and analysts, changing of crypto financial structure and giving more knowledge to clients on what to expect from crypto in the nearest future.
“State Street has a major role to play in the evolution of digital market infrastructure and this new division will help us bring our expertise and resources to the conversation. As digital currencies and tokenization not only gain momentum, but transform financial infrastructure and operating models, we can help our clients bridge the gap between the industry of today and the one of tomorrow.” he said.
State Street is one of the top asset management companies in Boston US which have acknowledged the role of cryptocurrency in the improvement of an economy which highlighted not less than 101 asset management companies operating within the North American regions.
