GBX Launched Tokenization Platform with STO Global-X 

Gibraltar Blockchain Exchange (GBX) announced on April 5 that Gibraltar Stock Exchange Group (GSX Group) subsidiary Hashstacs Inc. will partner with STO Global-X – a Singapore-based exchange technology company to launch a tokenization platform. This platform is tailored for qualified financial institutions such as broken-dealers, stock exchanges and investment banks to tokenize assets, which aims to enable a smooth and efficient process of clearing, trading and settling of digital securities. 

Bosch and Wien Energie Launch Blockchain-Based Fridge! 

The significance behind this fridge is that customer can trace back the origin of each kilowatt the fridge consumed and consumers have the options to choose the energy source to supply the fridge by smart contracts that allow users to select different sources of energy such as solar panel or wind farm. Therefore, it will increase the awareness of using sustainable energy by having a more transparent view of the energy source. 

Enhancing Token Compliance with Securitize Ready Program! 

Securitize, the Coinbase-backed token offering platform announced the launch of Securitize Ready Program on 9 April. The Securitize Ready Program aims to accelerate the process of digitizing securities on blockchain using Securitize’s DS Protocol. This protocol facilitates a compliant and automated process from the onboarding to issuance of security tokens. 

IBM Files Blockchain Patent for Autonomous Cars 

One of the highlights of this patent is that the sensors incorporated in the vehicle can monitor and manage the behavior of drivers. The data collected can be used to manage the risk and mitigate accidents based on the predicted data from other automobiles. 

AMF: Beware of Crypto Training Providers! 

The Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF) issued an announcement on April 9 to warn the operations of KUVERA LLC/KUVERA France. The company provides training courses and software solutions to promote “highly speculative” trading products among young adolescents, which includes trading cryptocurrencies and forex products. 

IMF: DLT Transformation Needs Trust and System Stability 

While Lagarde believed that financial regulation should keep up with fintech innovation, she warned that “We have to be mindful of two things: trust and the stability of the system. We don’t want innovation that would shake the system so much that we would lose the stability that is needed”. 

Withdrawing Fiat in UK ATMs Using Coinbase Card! 

The newly released Coinbase Card is currently available for the UK customers. Coinbase also released a mobile app in iOS and Android that allow customers to choose from a wide range of wallets to fund the Coinbase card. The card is able to support all digital assets listed on the Coinbase platform. 

U.S. Department of Energy Explores Blockchain in Power Plant Security 

The U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL) had announced an electric grid security project had entered into the 2nd phase according to the press release on 10 April. NETL had partnered up with the cybersecurity startup Taekion to launch a blockchain project that prevents cyberattack on power plants by using distributed ledger. 

No Target Launch Date for Telegram Blockchain despite Private Testing 

Telegram has launched private testing for its Telegram Open Network (TON) blockchain according to the report by Russian media Vedomosti. The report stated that the testing version of TON Blockchain is available only to a limited number of developers around the globe.
