(Rejected 2)A New Ripple Scam is Making Waves Warns Twitter User

All the Ripple users and community members are hereby warned of a new Ripple giveaway scam which is being identified as having taken a whole new level:

- Some drops of Ripple (XRP) will be sent to your wallet with a memo attached.

- The Memo which is attached directs you to a fake Ripple website.

- Then a fake article redirects you to fake bithomp page to download a fake wallet.

A Twitter user by the name Leonidas Hadjiloizou, reported  about a rigorous and somewhat complicated XRP scam scheme making waves on the internet. The scam is organized in the form of a giveaway and it has three different processes.

The first procedure involves a "dusting attack" which would involve sending a small amount of XRP to your wallet alongside a memo.

Secondly, the said memo contains a fake link which will refer you to a website that is a clone of the official Ripple website. The relatedness in these sites can easily make gullible users to assume it is the original Ripple's site that they are visiting. It is only very few scrupulous users that will notice the difference.

Thirdly, the website features an insightful article with the headline: "Ripple Unlocks 50% Stake, Announces Massive Airdrop," it also contains a link which will redirect all users who want to receive their airdropped tokens to a site where they will be asked to download a fake version of the Bithomp wallet. The scammers are going to have the XRP sent to this very address created in fake wallet.

The article is quite insightful and is written with such precision that gullible users and community members will easily be deceived into believing that it is from Ripple. The fake article noted that the airdrop will be done on a "first come, first serve basis," noting that close to 72% of the XRP that is locked is tied up in what they called "collateral contract" and is going to expire in the next 3 to 6 months.
