Anthropic has released Claude for Financial Advisors, a set of connectors and workflow skills aimed at helping advisors with research, meeting preparation and documentation, according to the company’s Oct. 27, 2026 announcement. The company says the product is designed to reduce time spent on administrative work and keep advisors focused on client-facing activity.

Evidence and context

Anthropic framed the launch around the way advisory practices allocate time. In the announcement, the company cited Kitces research saying a typical advisory practice spends only a sixth of its time in client meetings. It also cited EBRI’s 2026 Retirement Confidence Survey, which found that more than four in 10 American workers say they do not know who to go to for good financial or retirement planning advice.

The new offering combines connectors to custodians, asset managers and wealth technology providers with task-specific skills. Anthropic said the connectors bring together data from CRM systems, custodians, portfolio reporting tools, financial planning software, estate tools and meeting-capture platforms so an advisor can work with client information in one place.

Among the named integrations, the company highlighted Addepar, BlackRock, CAIS, Charles Schwab, Conquest Planning, Envestnet, FactSet, FINNY, Flourish, Franklin Templeton, iCapital, Invesco, J.P. Morgan Asset Management (55ip), Jump, MSCI, Nevis, Orion, SS&C Black Diamond, Wealthbox, Wealth.com, Vanguard and Zocks. Anthropic also said the new advisor plugin bundles selected skills and connectors into a single install, with partners including BlackRock, Charles Schwab, Addepar, Envestnet, iCapital, Orion, Wealthbox, Wealth.com and Zocks.

Anthropic said some partners are also launching their own plugins, including BlackRock for Advisor Center, alongside existing plugins from S&P Global and LSEG. The company said Enterprise plans are recommended for registered investment advisers because they include audit logs for recordkeeping.

Workflow design and compliance controls

Anthropic said the skills are built around specific advisor tasks, including advisor onboarding, alternative-investment briefs, compliance and AI-policy review, estate and tax briefs, portfolio rebalance review, post-meeting notes and follow-up, pre-meeting prep and prospect intake. The company said these tools can draft briefs, summaries and client communications, but that investment recommendations, client communications, compliance determinations and other regulated activities remain subject to human review and approval.

In its description, Anthropic said the compliance skill screens client-facing language against the SEC Marketing Rule, helps firms document review activities within existing governance and recordkeeping processes, and includes a self-guided AI-policy workflow to document AI use under SEC rules. Workflow activities can also be documented to support recordkeeping and oversight processes, according to the company.

The article says the advisor plugin is available now. Anthropic also said firms that request a new license before the end of September 2026 would receive a one-time usage credit to help them get started, although the article was updated on Oct. 27, 2026 from an original publication date of Sept. 14, 2026.

Recent Claude updates provide additional context for the launch. On Oct. 21, 2026, Anthropic said Claude Duet research preview opened for Pro and Max subscribers, introducing an app where Claude works as a proactive agent. On Oct. 7, 2026, Anthropic said Claude Haiku 5.5 launched for high-volume, cost-sensitive tasks and that Max and Team plans added monthly API credits for building apps and agents on the Claude Platform.
