Bitcoin's (BTC) Market Remains Sensitive Despite Reduced Selling Pressure

Bitcoin's (BTC) market recently witnessed a notable rebound, recovering from an 11% drop earlier in October. This decline, which saw Bitcoin's price fall from a high of $66,587 at the end of September to $58,943 by October 10, was primarily driven by strong selling pressure, according to Bitfinex Alpha.

Market Dynamics and Price Recovery

The selling pressure, which was prominently initiated by activities on Coinbase, began to ease, allowing Bitcoin to climb back to $64,500. The initial sell-off was reflected in the Coinbase Premium Gap index, which fell to -100 points before the price recovery.

On-Chain Indicators and Resistance Levels

On-chain data highlights the significance of the $63,000 price level, which serves as a critical resistance point for short-term Bitcoin holders. Surpassing this threshold could indicate further upward momentum, while failure to do so might lead to retesting support levels around $59,000 or even $55,000.

Economic Indicators and Inflation Trends

Recent economic data points to a cooling inflation trend, with the Consumer Price Index rising only 0.2% in September, marking the slowest annual increase in over three years. This deflationary trend is attributed to declining energy and housing costs, although core inflation, driven by the services sector, remains elevated.

Producer inflation remained stable in September, alleviating some inflationary pressures. The drop in energy prices has kept production costs steady, suggesting inflation might not escalate sharply in the near term. However, businesses continue to respond cautiously to high interest rates, reflecting concerns over demand and financial costs.

Regulatory Developments and Market Implications

Significant regulatory developments are unfolding in the cryptocurrency sector. The Financial Services Commission of South Korea is reconsidering its ban on domestic spot crypto ETFs and institutional crypto accounts, signaling a potential shift in the country's crypto investment landscape. Concurrently, Canary Capital has filed with the U.S. SEC to establish a spot XRP ETF, aiming to simplify XRP investments for traditional brokerage users.

In other news, the trustee of Mt. Gox has extended the repayment deadline for creditors to October 31, 2025, due to procedural delays. This extension alleviates market concerns over a potential Bitcoin sell-off, as creditors could liquidate some of the 44,900 BTC set for distribution, which might pressure Bitcoin prices.
