The Celo Foundation has announced the launch of CxAI, a user-centric initiative aimed at integrating artificial intelligence (AI) within the blockchain ecosystem. This ambitious project has garnered the support of 16 initial partners, including notable names such as EigenLayer, Olas, Masa, and GainForest, among others, according to the Celo Foundation.

Driving Blockchain Innovation

CxAI is set to leverage Celo’s 14 native stablecoins to facilitate various use cases including foreign exchange markets, onchain lending, and rewarding social engagement. By focusing on user-centricity, open-source collaboration, and transparency, the initiative aligns with Celo’s mission to foster prosperity for all.

The initiative aims to accelerate the adoption of Celo’s globally distributed ecosystem, which already encompasses over 1,000 projects across more than 150 countries. By harnessing blockchain technology and AI, CxAI seeks to enhance the inclusivity and equity of financial systems worldwide.

Collaborative Efforts and Ecosystem Growth

CxAI’s launch comes amidst significant improvements in AI infrastructure, including agent-to-agent transactions and large language models. This positions the Celo ecosystem to achieve unprecedented impact through the development of AI-powered solutions. Key partners like ChainGPT, Climate Collective, and Gaia are set to contribute to this transformative journey.

With the introduction of CxAI, Celo intends to further bolster its Layer-2 network, designed for rapid, low-cost transactions globally. The initiative also aims to support a burgeoning onchain economy, particularly through the development of AI agents that augment Celo’s stablecoin ecosystem and decentralized finance (DeFi) applications.

Empowering Developers and Community Engagement

CxAI is committed to empowering developers by supporting industry-wide hackathons and events. The initiative will sponsor events such as the Safe Agentathon and thirdweb’s Web3 LLM Nebula workshop, fostering the creation of innovative Celo-native applications.

Moreover, CxAI will champion open-source frameworks to support AI adoption, collaborating with projects like Crossmint’s GOAT and Eliza Labs’ ai16z. The initiative’s mission is to expand onchain AI infrastructure, contributing to a robust ecosystem of user-centric AI solutions.

As the Celo Foundation continues to drive blockchain innovation, CxAI stands as a testament to the potential of AI in crafting a more inclusive and equitable financial system. With a focus on collaboration and transparency, the initiative is set to unlock new possibilities for identity verification, gaming, and the creator economy.
