Anthropic has announced the general availability of the Claude Platform on AWS, enabling AWS users to integrate the full features of the Claude ecosystem with AWS's authentication, billing, and commitment retirement systems. The Claude Platform on AWS includes access to Anthropic’s development environment, the Claude Console, which features tools like a prompt improver, a prompt generator, and evaluation mechanisms. Developers can also utilize key models such as Claude Opus 4.7, Sonnet 4.6, and Haiku 4.5, with additional models to be rolled out on the platform as they are developed.
Two Paths for Claude on AWS
Anthropic's Claude products can now be accessed via two distinct offerings on AWS: the Claude Platform on AWS and Claude on Amazon Bedrock. These options cater to varied operational and regulatory requirements.
The Claude Platform on AWS is managed directly by Anthropic, offering all native Claude API features. However, data is processed outside the AWS boundary, making it ideal for companies seeking a comprehensive Claude experience without strict regional data residency constraints.
Conversely, Claude on Amazon Bedrock processes data exclusively within AWS infrastructure, meeting the needs of organizations with stringent data residency policies or specific regional requirements.

Organizations with existing Bedrock private offers should contact their Anthropic or AWS account executives prior to onboarding to ensure applicable discounts are correctly applied. Any usage incurred before accepting a Claude Platform private offer will not be eligible for retroactive discounting.
