Conflux (CFX) announces v3.1.1 testnet upgrade to fix node issues
Conflux (CFX) has announced a v3.1.1 testnet upgrade on Oct. 22, 2026, saying the release is aimed at fixing several node stability and RPC issues that could affect operators. The forum post says the update addresses possible node panics, excessive memory usage, a concurrent trace-query deadlock and other bugs, while recommending that node operators upgrade.
Evidence and context
In the announcement published on Oct. 22, 2026, Conflux said the v3.1.1-testnet release fixes several possible node panics and excessive memory usage, a possible execution deadlock during concurrent trace queries, incorrect peer reputation updates during simultaneous connections and missing block-body checks during catch-up synchronization. It also says the update corrects eth_createAccessList returning empty or incorrect access lists and fixes a panic when tracing the genesis block.
The release note says Linux builds are being upgraded to OpenSSL 3.5.9 and that dependencies are being updated to address security issues. Conflux also instructed operators with running nodes to suspend the node, replace the executable named “conflux” in the run directory with the v3.1.1-testnet executable, and restart the node. For new nodes, the post says users can download and run the latest v3.1.1-testnet version.
The announcement does not specify a testnet activation time or say when all nodes must complete the update. It says only that upgrading nodes to the latest version is recommended and that the release is designed to resolve issues that could potentially cause crashes and excessive memory usage.
The update follows Conflux’s earlier v3.1.0 network hardfork completion, which the project confirmed on Aug. 25, 2026. Related recent announcements included gas-free USDT0 transfers on Conflux eSpace on Sept. 24, 2026, and the discontinuation of the Unifra eSpace RPC service on Aug. 27, 2026.
As of Oct. 22, 2026, market data supplied with the announcement showed the Conflux token trading at $0.053125, down 3.60% over 24 hours, with a market capitalization of $278,866,528. The source material does not link the token move to the testnet upgrade.
What the release changes
According to Conflux, the main technical changes in v3.1.1-testnet are concentrated in node reliability, tracing, peer handling and RPC behavior rather than protocol redesign. The post frames the release as a maintenance and security update for the testnet environment, with package and cryptographic dependency changes included alongside the bug fixes.
