Devcon Scholars Program Relaunches for Devcon Southeast Asia

The Ethereum Foundation has announced the return of the Devcon Scholars Program, set to take place in conjunction with Devcon Southeast Asia (SEA). The program aims to gather builders from diverse geographical and professional backgrounds and foster a community focused on co-learning and co-creation.

This year, the program will accommodate up to 100 scholars across four distinct categories: Ethereum Community Organizers, Law Students & Legal Professionals, Artists & Sci-fi Writers, and Other Builders.

What To Expect As a Scholar

The Scholars Program will commence in August and conclude after Devcon in late November. Selected scholars will receive financial support tailored to individual needs, covering expenses such as accommodation, flight, visa applications, per diem, and Devcon tickets. The selection process will not be influenced by the level of financial need.

Beyond financial aid, participants will engage in pre-Devcon community-building activities, including online sessions designed to foster relationships, mentorship, and skill development. The program will culminate in a week-long immersive experience at Devcon in Bangkok, Thailand. After Devcon, scholars are expected to create a Learning Artifact, a free-format creation that encapsulates their learning and experience.

Eligibility & Requirements

Applicants must be first-time Devcon attendees and willing to commit approximately three hours per week over three months for online sessions and assignments. The program is open to applicants across the four specified categories, which include:

• Ethereum Community Organizers: Targeting both seasoned and emerging Ethereum community leaders who actively engage with blockchain-related communities.
• Law Students & Legal Professionals: This category aims to nurture legally proficient professionals with a technical understanding of the Ethereum ecosystem.
• Artists & Sci-fi Writers: This cohort will comprise artists and writers who can express Ethereum’s culture and values through their work.
• Other Builders: Open to developers and other innovators from various disciplines who are eager to push Ethereum’s boundaries.
