ENS Labs and Linea Association Collaborate to Launch Namechain for Ethereum Scaling
ENS Labs, renowned for its Ethereum Name Service (ENS), and the Linea Association are joining forces to create Namechain, a Layer 2 (L2) solution aimed at revolutionizing onchain identity and naming services, according to linea.mirror.xyz. Addressing Scalability Challenges
ENS, which goes beyond merely naming Ethereum addresses, also supports decentralized websites and brings DNS onchain. Despite its widespread adoption, with over 2.5 million onchain ".eth" names, the high costs and slow transaction speeds on Ethereum's Mainnet have hindered broader usage. The introduction of Namechain is expected to tackle these challenges by offering faster and cheaper transactions, thereby facilitating a seamless user experience.
