(REjected) Ethereum 2.0 Upgrade will be 20x more faster than credit cards transactions

The Ethereum 2.0 upgrade was announced by the official Ethereum blog and it's coming soon, the am upgrade aims to improve the Ethereum blockchain and also add New solidity deposits contract, Altona testnet v0.12, and Finding all the bugs.

Ethereum 2.0 also aims to boost the number of transactions per second. Ethereum Co-Founder said on Twitter that:

"ETH2 scaling for data will be available before ETH2 scaling for general computation,"

"This implies that rollups will be the dominant scaling paradigm for at least a couple of years: first ~2-3k TPS with ETH1 as data layer, then ~100k TPS with ETH2 (phase 1)"

We should not expect ETH to be able to take up to 100,000 transactions per second soon, as it might take years to achieve, it's not worth including 100,000 TPS now since ETH does not have a lot of transactions to confirm. He noted that at the first lunch of Ethereum 2.0 will be able to confirm 2000 to 3000 transactions per second, which is very good, then it will be later improved to 100,000 TPS.

Transactions per second comparison

Ethereum has a faster confirmation of ~12 TPS usually for Bitcoin to confirm a transaction three times can take an hour to achieve, at the time of publication the average Bitcoin TPS is seven and need to be improved. Ripple (XRP) has one of the highest TPS, it can confirm up to 50,000 TPS. A credit card is one of the most used payments methods and can handle up to 5000 TPS.

If the world is able to adapt to Ethereum and other cryptocurrencies as a payment method, 100,000 TPS will be needed to bring a much faster transaction for Ethereum users, as this may also attract investors.
