Fetch AI, a leading player in the AI solutions space, has announced major updates to its Agentverse, AI Engine, and DeltaV platforms. The updates were introduced in their v0.21 release and are aimed at streamlining development workflow for AI app developers.
Refactoring Services to Functions for Easier Agent Development
Fetch AI has refactored its Task and Service groups within Agentverse, replacing them with Functions. This significant shift from 'services' to 'functions' is aimed at simplifying the workflow for developers. Consequently, developers will no longer create Service or Services groups, instead, they will be working with 'Functions' and 'Function Groups'. The new terminology aligns better with general development practices, making onboarding to Agentverse more intuitive for developers.
Direct Link to DeltaV for Seamless Testing and Deployment
Fetch AI has also introduced a 'Test in DeltaV' button. This new feature allows developers to test their functions directly in DeltaV. Following the testing process, developers can choose to make their agent available to the public by hitting 'Publish'.
Furthermore, developers can now import their Local agents into Agentverse, view them in their Agents List, and test and deploy functions for them as they would with hosted agents. This feature bridges the gap between local and cloud development, providing flexibility in how developers build and deploy their agents.
Local Code and Downloadable Use Cases
To support the integration of local development practices, use case examples in Agentverse now resemble local agent code. This update allows developers to download and run these examples locally using AVCTL, promoting a smoother transition from testing to deployment.
DeltaV/AI Engine Enhancements
Backend operations and DeltaV interfaces have been refactored to replace tasks and services with functions, and service groups with function groups. A lifecycle process for publishing functions has been introduced, providing a clear pathway from development to deployment. To optimize performance and security, DeltaV now automatically deletes sessions that are older than a week.
