Harvey AI Launches Memory Feature to Personalize Legal Workflows

Harvey AI, the legal technology company valued at $11 billion as of March 2026, has introduced a new feature called Memory, designed to personalize AI workflows for legal professionals. Announced on August 26, Memory enables the platform to retain and apply user preferences across tasks, eliminating the need for repetitive prompt instructions.

This feature, part of the company’s recent Harvey II update, allows users to set standing instructions that automatically shape AI outputs. For example, a user can instruct Harvey to flag jurisdiction-specific issues, draft concise emails tailored for mobile readers, or distinguish between UK and EU GDPR regulations. Once saved, these preferences are applied universally across Harvey’s web app, Outlook integration, and Word add-in.

Transforming AI for Legal Professionals

Unlike consumer-grade AI tools that passively accumulate user data, Harvey’s Memory operates transparently. Users explicitly define what the system remembers, and every applied memory is cited in outputs for verification. This feature not only enhances accuracy but also ensures compliance with strict data handling standards critical for legal work. All stored preferences reside in personal settings, giving users full control to review, edit, or delete them.

Administrative controls add another layer of security, allowing firms to decide whether to enable Memory for specific teams or individuals. Harvey has also emphasized that individual memories are not used to train AI models, addressing potential privacy and security concerns.

Scaling Efficiency Without Sacrificing Quality

Memory is tailored for high-stakes legal environments, where consistency and customization are essential. By aligning AI outputs with individual preferences, Harvey aims to free up time for higher-value tasks while maintaining rigorous standards. For example, users drafting updates for partners or general counsel can rely on Harvey to maintain their preferred formatting and tone, whether in documents or emails.

“This is what makes agents more useful, not just faster,” the company noted in its announcement. “An agent that carries your context does every step of the work your way: your framing, your positions, your format.”

Positioning for Growth

Memory’s launch follows a series of major milestones for Harvey. The company raised $200 million in March 2026, bringing its valuation to $11 billion, and is reportedly in talks for another funding round at a $15.5 billion valuation. With over 1,300 customers across 60 countries, including AmLaw and Magic Circle firms as well as Fortune 500 legal departments, Harvey is aggressively scaling its AI solutions to meet the demands of global legal markets.

Currently available in Early Access, Memory will roll out for general availability in the coming weeks. Harvey also hinted at future developments, including shared memory scoped to client matters or organizational use, further positioning itself as a leader in legal AI innovation.

For legal teams looking to streamline workflows without compromising on precision, Harvey’s Memory feature could be a game-changer. Interested users can contact Harvey for a demo.
