Harvey adds iManage ethical wall enforcement for shared workspaces
Harvey said it has made generally available a feature that enforces ethical walls and information barriers from iManage Security Policy Manager across its platform, allowing firms to keep using the policies already maintained in iManage when lawyers share content in Harvey.
Evidence and context
According to Harvey’s Oct. 29, 2026 blog post, the integration uses client matters and policies synced from iManage Security Policy Manager, or SPM, to control access to Threads, Vaults, Review Tables and Spaces inside Harvey. The company said iManage SPM remains the system of record, with policies managed there and synced into Harvey so that access decisions follow the firm’s existing wall settings rather than a second set of rules inside Harvey.
Harvey said the enforcement checks who may be cleared for a restricted matter and who is excluded from an otherwise open one. When a workspace or Vault is synced from iManage, Harvey automatically applies the relevant client matter and policy, and on sharing it checks each recipient against the applicable wall. If a user is outside the barrier, the content remains inaccessible until that person is permissioned through the firm’s usual process, according to the company.
The company also said audit logs record wall membership syncs, space access attempts and changes to enforcement, giving firms a way to review how policies were applied over time. Harvey framed the update as a way for firms to bring more matters into AI-assisted workflows while keeping the same governance controls that already exist in iManage.
Harvey said the capability follows an early access period with select customers and is now generally available for Harvey customers using iManage. The post also highlighted Eversheds Sutherland as a design partner. In Harvey’s account, the firm tested the integration during a pilot, used synced Vaults for walled matters and later brought previously excluded matters into scope. Rachel Broquard, service excellence partner at Eversheds Sutherland, said in a quoted statement that the change lets lawyers sync iManage folders to a Vault, either on a daily schedule or on demand, and collaborate with colleagues with confidence that information barriers are being respected.
The post does not provide pricing, deployment counts or timing for any broader rollout beyond saying availability is general for customers using iManage. Harvey said firms interested in the feature should contact a representative to confirm availability for their deployment.
