Harvey launches Intake artifact for Claude legal workflows
Harvey said it is a launch partner for Anthropic's latest Claude for Legal release, introducing a Harvey Intake artifact that is designed to route business users' legal questions into Harvey while keeping legal teams in control of responses and workflow.
What Harvey said the artifact does
In a blog post published on 28 October 2026, Harvey said the Intake artifact is a ready-to-use Claude artifact that legal teams can share across the business so employees can ask legal questions, submit requests and track responses. According to Harvey, the artifact connects to Harvey through its MCP server. Routine questions are answered using legal guidance, playbooks and prior work in Harvey, while matters that require legal judgment are routed to a lawyer in Harvey and the response is returned to the requester in Claude.
Harvey also said each request is logged in Intake, where legal teams can set assignment rules, track progress and triage incoming work. Requesters can check status and follow up within Claude, and legal teams can manage the request and review process in one place.
Context for in-house legal teams
Harvey framed the release as a way to address a common workflow problem: business teams are already bringing questions, including legal ones, to Claude, and general answers can leave the legal function without visibility or control. The company said the new artifact is intended to give business users a place to work inside Claude while preserving legal oversight inside Harvey.
Harvey also said legal teams can connect to Harvey inside other Claude artifacts to use context already stored in Harvey without manual uploads. The company described the broader aim as extending legal support across the business while keeping every request in a single system for the legal team to manage through resolution.
Product and timing details
Verified background material dated 28 October 2026 describes Intake as Harvey's front door for in-house legal support, combining request capture, routing, AI-assisted execution and review. That background also says the product page lists connected channels, attachments and context gathering, guest access without a Harvey seat, shared triage queues, configurable escalation rules and audit trails. Listed use cases include sales contracts, procurement agreements, HR questions and marketing claims.
The available sources do not establish a universal general-availability date for Intake, and they do not independently verify performance results. The sources also do not establish a separate product named "Harvey Intake artifact" beyond Harvey's description in this launch post.
Matt Zerweck, Harvey's head of in-house product, said in the post that business teams are already bringing their questions to Claude and that Harvey is designed to meet them where they work, giving legal teams the ability to set rules, see what is being asked and step in to manage risk.
