Hewlett Packard Enterprise (NYSE: HPE) and NVIDIA have announced the launch of NVIDIA AI Computing by HPE, a comprehensive portfolio of co-developed AI solutions designed to accelerate the adoption of generative AI in enterprises, according to NVIDIA Newsroom.

Key Features of the New AI Portfolio

The portfolio includes the HPE Private Cloud AI, a pioneering solution that integrates NVIDIA's AI computing, networking, and software with HPE’s AI storage, compute, and the HPE GreenLake cloud. This integration aims to offer enterprises an energy-efficient, fast, and flexible path for developing and deploying generative AI applications.

HPE Private Cloud AI is enhanced by the OpsRamp AI copilot, which aids IT operations in improving workload and IT efficiency. The solution offers a self-service cloud experience with comprehensive lifecycle management and is available in four configurations tailored to various AI workloads and use cases.

Comprehensive Go-to-Market Strategy

NVIDIA AI Computing by HPE will be marketed through a joint strategy involving sales teams, channel partners, training, and a global network of system integrators, including Deloitte, HCLTech, Infosys, TCS, and Wipro. This collaborative approach aims to help enterprises across diverse industries manage complex AI workloads.

The announcement was made during the HPE Discover keynote by HPE President and CEO Antonio Neri, alongside NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang. The initiative marks a significant expansion of the longstanding partnership between the two companies.

Statements from Leadership

Antonio Neri emphasized the transformative potential of generative AI for enterprises, stating, “Generative AI holds immense potential for enterprise transformation, but the complexities of fragmented AI technology contain too many risks and barriers that hamper large-scale enterprise adoption.”

Jensen Huang added, “Generative AI and accelerated computing are fueling a fundamental transformation as every industry races to join the industrial revolution.”

Integration and Capabilities

HPE Private Cloud AI offers support for inference, fine-tuning, and RAG AI workloads utilizing proprietary data, ensuring enterprise control over data privacy, security, transparency, and governance. The AI and data software stack is built on the NVIDIA AI Enterprise software platform, which includes NVIDIA NIM™ inference microservices.

The solution is further supported by HPE AI Essentials software, providing a ready-to-run set of AI and data foundation tools with a unified control plane. This setup ensures AI pipelines are compliant, explainable, and reproducible throughout their lifecycle.

HPE Private Cloud AI also features a fully integrated AI infrastructure stack, including NVIDIA Spectrum-X™ Ethernet networking, HPE GreenLake for File Storage, and HPE ProLiant servers with support for NVIDIA L40S, H100 NVL Tensor Core GPUs, and the GH200 NVL2 platform.

Enhanced Cloud Experience

The HPE GreenLake cloud platform enables a self-service cloud experience with manageability and observability to automate, orchestrate, and manage endpoints, workloads, and data across hybrid environments. This includes sustainability metrics for workloads and endpoints.

OpsRamp’s IT operations are integrated with HPE GreenLake cloud, delivering observability and AIOps to all HPE products and services. This integration provides insights for identifying anomalies and monitoring AI infrastructure and workloads across hybrid, multi-cloud environments.

Support from Global System Integrators

Global system integrators like Deloitte, HCLTech, Infosys, TCS, and Wipro have announced their support for the NVIDIA AI Computing by HPE portfolio and HPE Private Cloud AI as part of their strategic AI solutions and services. This collaboration aims to expedite the time to value for enterprises developing industry-focused AI solutions.

Upcoming Availability

The HPE Private Cloud AI and several server configurations featuring NVIDIA GPUs are expected to be generally available in the fall and summer of 2024, respectively. Additionally, HPE GreenLake for File Storage has achieved NVIDIA DGX BasePOD certification, providing a proven enterprise file storage solution for accelerating AI workloads at scale.
