Libre Capital, a prominent developer in financial instruments tokenization and issuance, has announced a significant development for Sui users. According to Sui Foundation, the company will now offer institutional and accredited investors onchain access to a variety of investment funds through the Libre Capital Gateway on Sui.

Diverse Investment Opportunities

The initiative will include access to the tokenized Laser Carry Fund (LCF), a market-neutral digital asset strategy developed by Nomura’s Laser Digital. This move allows Sui users who are institutional or accredited investors to explore investment opportunities in several onchain funds, covering leading hedge funds, private credit funds, and money market funds.

Expanding Horizons

By leveraging Libre's and Sui’s robust ecosystem, the company aims to broaden the investment horizons for those looking to diversify their portfolios within the digital asset landscape. Dr. Avtar Sehra, CEO and founder of Libre, stated, "The launch of the Libre Gateway on Sui is a huge step forward to enable access to wealth and treasury management tools for users on Sui, and for Libre to take advantage of Move-based infrastructure to enable value-added services like collateralized lending for onchain users."

Innovative Financial Strategies

The LCF strategy is designed to yield high returns by capitalizing on funding rates and yield opportunities in the digital asset market. The strategy reflects a blend of traditional and digital market expertise. This launch is part of Libre's broader effort to integrate traditional financial expertise into digital asset markets, highlighted by its recent partnership with First Abu Dhabi Bank to revolutionize onchain NAV financing. Additionally, Libre has tokenized funds from leading managers such as Blackrock, Brevan Howard, and Hamilton Lane.

Infrastructure and Compliance

Libre operates a robust infrastructure that allows investors to access tokenized versions of real-world assets, including money market funds, private credit, hedge funds, and other alternative assets on public blockchains. This is achieved through onchain Libre Gateway DeFi apps deployed on each public chain, providing institutional and accredited investors with direct, regulatory-compliant access to top-tier funds on Sui.

Christian Thompson, Sui Foundation’s Managing Director, emphasized the significance of this collaboration, stating, “Leveraging Sui’s Move-based infrastructure to provide institutional and accredited investors with secure and scalable access to real-world assets is a powerful use case for the technology. Collaborating with Libre is another critical stepping stone for Sui to bridge the gap between traditional finance and crypto.”
