Mixed Sentiments for Ethereum (ETH) and Solana (SOL) as Bitcoin (BTC) Expectations Soar
According to a recent survey conducted by CoinGecko, the cryptocurrency community holds high expectations for Bitcoin (BTC) but has mixed sentiments regarding Ethereum (ETH) and Solana (SOL). The survey, which gathered responses from 2,558 crypto participants, provides a snapshot of market sentiment and price predictions for these leading cryptocurrencies.
How High Will Bitcoin Go?
Among the survey's participants, 43.7% believe that Bitcoin will exceed $100,000 in the current cycle, indicating strong optimism for the largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization. The next most popular prediction was the $91,000 to $100,000 range, chosen by 17.0% of respondents. Conversely, 15.0% of participants held a more bearish outlook, predicting that Bitcoin would peak at $75,000.
Experience appeared to influence expectations significantly. Participants with more experience in the crypto market were more optimistic about Bitcoin's price potential. Specifically, 50.5% of second-cycle participants and 51.8% of veterans predicted that Bitcoin would surpass $100,000, compared to just 35.2% of newcomers.
Investors were the most bullish group, with 49.4% predicting Bitcoin's price would go beyond $100,000. In contrast, only 33.9% of traders, 32.6% of builders, and 22.4% of spectators shared this optimistic outlook. Spectators had the lowest expectations, with 31.5% predicting a peak price of $75,000.
How High Will Ethereum Go?
Expectations for Ethereum were more varied. The most common prediction, held by 20.6% of respondents, was that Ethereum would surpass $10,000. However, a close 19.2% believed Ethereum's price would peak at $5,000. The least popular prediction was the $8,000 to $9,000 range, chosen by 10.6% of respondents, slightly behind the $6,000 to $7,000 and $9,000 to $10,000 ranges.
This lack of consensus could be attributed to the evolving narrative around Ethereum and its broader ecosystem, which includes numerous layer-1 and layer-2 solutions.
How High Will Solana Go?
Regarding Solana, participants expressed more conservative expectations. The most popular prediction, held by 24.9% of respondents, was that Solana would peak at $300, indicating that many do not expect Solana to significantly surpass its previous all-time high. The second most common prediction was the $300 to $400 range, chosen by 14.7% of participants. Other predictions ranged from $400 to $1,000, each capturing between 4.6% and 12.6% of responses.
