NVIDIA (NASDAQ: NVDA) reported blockbuster results for its fiscal Q2 2027 on Wednesday, posting $96.2 billion in revenue for the quarter ended July 26, 2026. This marked an 18% sequential increase and a staggering 106% year-over-year growth, fueled by surging demand for AI infrastructure and data center systems.

Data center revenue was the standout driver, contributing $89 billion—up 18% from the previous quarter and 117% year-over-year. The segment dominates NVIDIA’s overall business, largely driven by the adoption of AI technologies across hyperscale cloud providers, enterprises, and industrial applications. CEO Jensen Huang highlighted the "golden age of AI," pointing to the proliferation of new AI labs and a thriving ecosystem of AI startups as catalysts for growth.

The company’s GAAP gross margins hit 75.0%, slightly improving from 74.9% in the prior quarter. GAAP earnings per share (EPS) came in at $2.46, a 128% jump year-over-year. Non-GAAP EPS was reported at $2.22, reflecting a 120% increase.

AI-Driven Expansion and Outlook

NVIDIA continues to ride the AI wave, with ongoing demand for its GPUs and the Blackwell architecture platform. Recent launches, including the NVIDIA Vera Rubin AI platform and partnerships with hyperscale players like Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure, underscore the company's focus on enabling large-scale AI infrastructure. Notably, NVIDIA announced strategic plans to mobilize over $500 billion in AI compute financing through alliances with firms like BlackRock and Apollo.

Looking ahead, NVIDIA projects $108 billion in revenue for Q3 FY27, plus or minus 2%. Gross margins are expected to remain steady at 74.0%, while operating expenses are forecasted at approximately $9.2 billion on a GAAP basis.

Stock Performance and Market Context

Despite the strong quarterly numbers, NVIDIA's stock traded at $209.66 as of August 26, 2026, down 1.52% from the prior close. The dip reflects broader market concerns over the sustainability of AI capital expenditure growth and ongoing geopolitical risks, including restrictions on data center exports to China.

With a market capitalization of $5.114 trillion, NVIDIA remains a dominant force in the AI and semiconductor sectors. However, analysts are keenly watching for potential supply chain constraints and the scalability of current demand levels as key risks to its valuation.

For investors, NVIDIA’s growth trajectory appears tied to the broader AI adoption curve. The company's ability to maintain its leadership in cutting-edge AI hardware and software solutions will likely dictate its long-term performance.
