Render Network Greenlights Proposals: RNP-016, RNP-017, and RNP-018

In a decisive move towards enhancing its rendering capabilities, the Render Network community has approved three critical proposals: RNP-016, RNP-017, and RNP-018. These proposals were passed in a final community vote and are set to shape the network's roadmap for 2025, according to Render Network.

RNP-016: Arnold Render Integration

RNP-016 introduces the integration of Arnold Render, a leading GPU render engine widely used in film and TV visual effects. This integration will allow artists to leverage a multi-render workflow, incorporating top-tier engines like Octane, Redshift, Cycles, and Arnold. Notably, Arnold's integration will provide extensive support for large production houses and visual effects studios, known for its use in high-profile films such as Blade Runner: 2049 and Guardians of the Galaxy. RNP-017: OctaneRender for Blender Integration

Building on previous support for Blender, RNP-017 proposes a specialized build of Blender pre-configured with OctaneRender. This integration aims to offer seamless access to high-performance GPU cloud rendering for millions of Blender users. With this development, the Render Network strengthens its vendor-neutral position, ensuring artists have the freedom to choose their preferred tools. The initiative also underscores the network's commitment to the Blender ecosystem, having made access to Render Network and Octane for Blender free for all users.

RNP-018: Year 2 BME Emissions Allocation

Focusing on the network's growth, RNP-018 outlines the budget for Year 2 BME Emissions and Render Foundation funding. Key initiatives include increasing Artist Rewards and launching an AI Scout program to support decentralized AI and generative AI applications. The proposal also recaps the Render Foundation's milestones in 2024, highlighting significant achievements such as passing eight RNPs, tripling on-chain network usage, and funding 93 Artist Grants.
