SAP and NVIDIA Unveil Advanced AI Capabilities at Sapphire Orlando
At SAP’s Sapphire event in Orlando, Florida, SAP and NVIDIA unveiled groundbreaking advancements in generative AI and industrial digital twins, promising to revolutionize enterprise applications. According to NVIDIA Blog, the collaboration aims to enhance SAP’s generative AI copilot, Joule, and integrate NVIDIA Omniverse Cloud APIs into SAP’s Intelligent Product Recommendation solution.
Generative AI for Enterprise Applications
During the event, the companies showcased the integration of NVIDIA AI Enterprise software to introduce new capabilities for Joule, SAP’s generative AI copilot. These capabilities include SAP Consulting and ABAP Developer functionalities designed to streamline complex processes and improve coding efficiency.
Joule, embedded across SAP’s cloud solutions, enables faster work and smarter insights grounded in business data. With the new consulting capability leveraging NVIDIA NeMo Retriever microservices, SAP consultants can access and utilize over 200,000 pages of learning content, product documentation, and community content, enhancing productivity and knowledge.
Enhancements for ABAP Developers
NVIDIA’s AI will also assist the more than 5 million developers using SAP’s ABAP programming language. By training a custom model on over 250 million lines of proprietary ABAP code using NVIDIA HGX H100 systems, developers can generate, complete, and explain code more efficiently. This allows developers to focus on building and deploying features rather than manually writing code.
These AI enhancements are set to be accessible in the generative AI hub in SAP AI Core, enabling developers and customers to leverage the full potential of NVIDIA AI Enterprise software.
Optimizing Sales Processes with Omniverse
SAP is also integrating NVIDIA Omniverse Cloud APIs into its Intelligent Product Recommendation solution to optimize the sales process for complex products. By allowing salespeople to visualize 3D product digital twins directly within the application, the integration aims to save time, reduce costs, and improve efficiency and safety.
SAP Intelligent Product Recommendation utilizes generative AI to analyze requirements described in natural language and generate suitable product configurations. The inclusion of Omniverse Cloud APIs enables users to interact with accurate digital models of products in their intended environment, aiding in faster quote generation and better customer solutions.
Additionally, the software can analyze text from various sources, such as emails and CRM notes, to generate recommendations based on key parameters like power requirements and lead times.
Future Collaborations and Developments
These advancements follow the companies' AI-focused collaborations announced at GTC in March, demonstrating their commitment to pushing the boundaries of AI in enterprise applications. NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang highlighted the significance of learning and representing different languages, emphasizing the value of CUDA for NVIDIA and ABAP for SAP.
“We’ve created generative APIs that understand the language of SAP, supply chains, and ERP systems,” said SAP CEO Christian Klein. “This allows us to have a specialist AI to assist in managing business operations.”
As SAP and NVIDIA continue to innovate, these developments mark a significant step towards more intelligent and efficient enterprise solutions.
