SSV Network Joins ETHOnline Hackathon with $10,000 in Prizes
SSV Network has announced its Gold tier sponsorship of the ETHOnline hackathon organized by ETHGlobal. The event, running from August 23rd to September 13th, 2024, offers a platform for developers to create next-gen restaking applications and tooling utilizing SSV Network’s Distributed Validator Technology (DVT) infrastructure. According to ssv.network, participants have the chance to win a share of $10,000 in prizes and gain grant opportunities.
Hackathon Details
The ETHOnline hackathon is set to span three weeks of asynchronous hacking, collaboration, and competition. Around 2,000 hackers are expected to participate, pushing their creative and technical limits. SSV Network will be involved in three specific tracks, each with its own set of prizes:
Prize Tracks
1. Best Use of SSV for Restaking - $4,000
The top prize of $2,500 will be awarded to the first-place project, while the runner-up will receive $1,500. Projects in this category will be judged on creativity, UI design, and completeness. A key requirement is that the project must successfully register a validator on the SSV Network testnet for restaking.
2. Best Use of SSV Data - $3,000
The first-place prize in this category is $2,000, with the second-place receiving $1,000. Eligible projects should showcase practical SSV Network statistics and may include dashboards that display data on SSV validators, operators, clusters, and related metrics. Integration with the SSV Subgraph and utilization of its API to obtain statistics is required.
3. Best Enhancement to SSV Tooling - $3,000
This category also offers $2,000 for the first-place project and $1,000 for the second-place. Participants are encouraged to create outstanding enhancements to any of SSV’s tools, processes, or onboarding systems. Valid SSVNetwork contract calls or keyshare file outputs will be necessary for qualification.
Additional Resources and Learning Opportunities
ETHGlobal will host the SSV Labs team on an X Space on August 20th to provide more insights into SSV and the hackathon. This will be supplemented by a workshop that will go live on the ETHGlobal YouTube channel, covering restaking and SSV after August 23rd.
Winning hackers will also have the opportunity to submit their projects to the SSV DAO grants committee to take their projects to market. The SSV ecosystem currently boasts 26 completed grants and another 46 in the pipeline, offering ample opportunities for further development and integration into the SSV Network.
