Sui Foundation Appoints Christian Thompson as New Managing Director
The Sui Foundation has announced the appointment of Christian Thompson as its new Managing Director, a strategic move aimed at propelling the organization into its next phase of growth and adoption. This appointment comes after a year marked by significant achievements for Sui, a leading Layer 1 blockchain known for its speed, scalability, and efficiency, according to Sui Foundation.
Thompson's Vision for Sui
Thompson steps into his role following a series of notable accomplishments by the Foundation, including surpassing $1.5 billion in Total Value Locked (TVL) and entering the top 10 of all blockchains in weekly decentralized exchange volume. The Foundation has also successfully launched two multi-billion dollar stablecoins, USDC and FDUSD, and onboarded institutional giants such as Franklin Templeton, VanEck, and Grayscale.

Christian Thompson's Background
Before joining the Sui Foundation, Thompson served as Deputy Chief Information Security Officer at Meta and was an early member of the Libra/Diem project. His diverse career includes founding Knowledge Preserve and OnDetail, as well as nearly a decade of service in law enforcement roles. In the financial sector, he founded The Capital Quorum and co-founded The Capitola Public Safety and Community Service Foundation.

Siourounis will continue to support the Foundation in a strategic advisory capacity.
