This round was spearheaded by General Catalyst, with co-leadership from Prosperity7, and saw participation from notable investors such as Salesforce Ventures, DAMAC Capital, NVIDIA, and Kleiner Perkins, among others, according to Together AI.

Strengthening AI Cloud Infrastructure

The substantial funding is set to bolster Together AI's position as a leader in providing AI Cloud solutions tailored for modern AI applications using open source models. The company plans to utilize this capital to enhance its infrastructure, including the deployment of NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs. This move aims to cater to the growing needs of over 450,000 developers and enterprises globally, including major names like Salesforce and Zoom.

Emphasizing Open Source AI

Together AI is committed to making AI accessible through open source initiatives. The company’s platform supports over 200 open source models across various modalities, including chat, image, audio, and code. By leveraging proprietary technologies like FlashAttention-3 kernels, Together AI provides significantly faster inference capabilities compared to traditional hyperscaler solutions.

Expanding Infrastructure Capabilities

In response to the increasing demand, Together AI is expanding its infrastructure by securing 200 MW of power capacity and deploying optimized clusters of NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs across several North American data centers. A partnership with Hypertec to build a 36,000 GPU cluster further underscores the company's commitment to scaling its AI Cloud services.
