DEEPSEEK

DeepSeek is an AI company and a family of large language models based in Hangzhou, China. It was founded in 2023 and funded by High-Flyer, a well - known quantitative asset management giant. DeepSeek is dedicated to developing advanced large language models and related technologies. It has released several models, including DeepSeek LLM, DeepSeek Coder, DeepSeekMath, and DeepSeek - VL. The latest version, DeepSeek - V3, which was launched in December 2024, has 67.1 billion parameters and was trained on a dataset of 14.8 trillion tokens. It uses FP8 training and open - sources the native FP8 weights. Benchmark tests show that it outperforms Llama 3.1 and Qwen 2.5 while matching GPT - 4O and Claude 3.5 Sonnet. In addition, DeepSeek - R1, which was officially released on January 20, 2025, performs on a par with OpenAI O1 in terms of mathematics, code, and natural language reasoning tasks. DeepSeek's models have a wide range of applications, such as chat and coding scenarios, multilingual automatic translation, image generation, and AI painting. With their high performance and low cost, DeepSeek's models have quickly gained popularity. For example, on February 2, 2025, the DeepSeek app climbed to the top of the download charts in 140 countries on the Apple App Store and also topped the Android Play Store in the United States

Circle Launches Native USDC on Polygon
Circle has natively integrated USDC on the Polygon PoS network, enabling direct access for users and developers. Polygon 2.0 Takes Major Step with POL Contracts on Goerli Testnet
Polygon is closing in on the launch of its 2.0 version with the deployment of POL contracts on the Goerli testnet. This significant development is a result of community consultations and the introduction of two new Polygon Improvement Proposals (PIPs), PIP-24 and PIP-25. These PIPs aim to modify the EIP-1559 burn system and adjust the POL token supply.
Google Cloud Becomes Validator on Polygon's PoS Network
Google Cloud has joined Polygon's PoS network as a validator, adding an extra layer of security and credibility. The network already has over 100 validators, and Google Cloud's involvement is expected to further strengthen it. Users can monitor validator performance through a dedicated dashboard, where Google Cloud has staked 25,391.67 MATIC.
Polygon Labs Proposes Celo's Transition to Ethereum L2 Using Their Chain Development Kit
Polygon Labs has proposed a technical upgrade for Celo, transitioning from an independent EVM-compatible L1 to an Ethereum L2. The proposal uses the Polygon Chain Development Kit (CDK), an open-source toolset that allows developers to create a ZK-powered L2 for Ethereum. Key benefits include enhanced collaboration, an EVM-equivalent environment, security, low fees, a unified L2 ecosystem, customization, fast transactions, and high standards of support. The proposal aims to achieve optimal technical upgrades for the blockchain community.
Polygon Solutions to Ethereum Scaling Challenges: An Overview
Ethereum's scaling problem is a long-standing issue, with its steady evolution ensuring safety and decentralization. Polygon 2.0 aims to address this by enhancing Ethereum's scalability. Polygon 2.0 consists of Polygon PoS, Polygon zkEVM, and Polygon CDK, designed to be interoperable for swift cross-chain transactions. These chains, which mirror the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM), enable developers to develop applications challenging to achieve on account-based systems like Ethereum. Polygon Labs plans to transform Polygon PoS into a zkEVM validium, mirroring Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) capabilities.
